I'm Back!

It has been quite some time since I updated your blog. All of your activities keep me really busy. I am not complaining though. It brings me great pride and pleasure to watch you play in all of your sports. You do really well. You just finished up with football. This was your first year to play tackle football. You did really well. You were the quarterback for your team and made the All Star squad. You were lucky to have dad coach you this year. You two made a great team. Your team was successful and even made it to the playoffs. It was exciting that you actually got to play against your cousin, Kyle, this year. Although, we were hoping you two would have been on the same team. That would have been awesome! You are now playing basketball and beginning baseball season. You absolutely love basketball! You are playing up in the 8u division and doing just fine. You have made some nice shots! I think every one's favorite so far was when you got the rebound and had a break away layup shot. There was no way you were going to let the other team stop you. The crowd went wild and you grinned ear to ear from all the applause and cheering. You made the decision to play with the DC Mudcats for baseball this year. I am so glad you chose this team. They are a great group of boys and coaches! You have played in a few tournaments and made some key catches. You never cease to amaze me. You are competitive in all that you do. You remind me a lot of myself at your age. You are in second grade. I am a little sad that this is the last year you will be with any of your siblings until high school. Your teacher told me that Makenna and you hug each other bye every day before going to class. I am glad you two love each other so much and look out for one another. You are trying really hard to run the most laps in PE so you can win the trophy at the end of the year. I am so proud of how hard you work in all that you do. You are reading quite well, and you love watching wrestling videos. We got lucky and actually went to a WWE match. You guys loved it. As you continue through this year I want you to continue to give it your all. I am so proud of the young man you are becoming. Always remember that dad and I love you and will support you in all that you do. Continue to dream big and work hard. You are a star in my eyes!!!

I love you! Mom

For the Love of Baseball

My Little Warrior!!! What a great baseball season you had! You really came around when it came to batting. By the end of the season you were hitting quite a few balls to the outfield that led to a lot of homeruns and triples. I am so proud of you! Here are a few actions shots of you.

Baseball season begins with a blast!

The future of baseball!
Well, baseball season is well under way. You are playing your first season of coach pitch. It has been so exciting! I am so proud of how well you hit the ball. When I say it started with a blast...unfortunately it was to your mouth! You got hit dead on by a ball you had no time to react to. The result was a busted lip, blood everywhere, and two loose teeth. You were a real trooper though! You played the entire game and never gave up. You actually ended the game at catcher where you made the game saving out. You saw a kid running to home to win the game and you yelled for Howie to throw you the ball. He did and you caught it, blocked the plate, and tagged the kid for the out. The stands went crazy yelling for you! Needless to say, I was one proud mama!!! Especially since you guys beat the coach from your old team. It was awesome. I am looking forward to the rest of your games. They are always so exciting. Keep up the good work! I love you more, I love you the whole Universe and back!
Your poor mouth!

Your poor teeth. The one fell out!

Basketball Season Comes to an End

Well, we have another great year of basketball under our belts. You were amazing this year! I am so proud of how well you did this season. The defense you played was unbelievable. You were grouped with 1st and 2nd graders this year so some of the kids were 2 years older than you. It didn't matter that some of them were much taller than you. You played without fear and stole the ball from them several times. I beamed with pride as you swiped the ball and raced it back down court to shoot a basket. You are one amazing little boy that makes my heart smile every day. Dad and I are so lucky to have you as part of our family. Continue to do your best, and I know you will go far.

I love you! -Mom

Basketball Weekend

What a great weekend you had on the basketball court! You did an incredible job. You manged to steal the ball several times and dribble down court for some shots. You had a couple from long range. I was so proud of you! Makenna and Papoo were there to cheer you on with me while dad coached. I also heard that you had a good baseball practice after that. Dad said you had some nice hits and even hit one quite far to the outfield. That is amazing since this is your first year to play coach pitch. I am so proud of you. Keep up the good work.

Getting a big congrats from your coach after a nice defensive steal!
Love you!

My Little All Star!

Where do I start with you? You are the most amazing little boy. You bring a smile to my face each and every day. People call you Grinning Griffey because you are always smiling. :) You have the most competitive spirit about you. You strive to be the best at everything you do. At 6 years old you have accomplished quite a bit! You are the top reader in your class, played football for the first time and made the All Star team, are playing basketball, and you are about to start 6 U Coach Pitch for baseball. I love to watch all of your games. I am so proud of you! Your big brother and big sister are your biggest cheerleaders. You are lucky that dad is the assistant coach for almost all of your sports. I know you love having him out there. Continue to give it your all...on and off the field, and always flash me that winning smile! I love you Grinning Griff!!!
